There is a lot of pressure put on teens today. Instead of the elementary years of fun and innocence, they’re met with pressure to impress their friends, get good grades, and consider weighty future decisions.
You’ve read the books and attempted to do it on your own, yet the weight on their minds seems to continue to take priority, and the spinning thoughts go unmanaged.
It’s not your fault, and your teen is likely navigating a lot and unsure of how to cope, but there is good news...
I utilize evidence-based approaches such as DBT and EFT as well as trauma-informed strategies in my teen counseling services that empower your child to work through their feelings while equipping them with powerful tools to cope. Whether it is experiences in school or with friends and family, they will learn to move through difficult situations with confidence.
Are you sometimes hesitant and unsure what to say or not to say to your teen, how to promote conversation, or to gently encourage therapy? I created some bullet points to help you open the communication doors between you and your teen. you can grab it here:
There are many life transitions that teens will experience, causing relational shifts and rifts that at the time can feel impossible for developing minds. The teenage years are a sensitive season with peer pressure, bullying, physical development, and more.
As parents and guardians, seeing our children struggling to process emotions, hurt, and trauma is not easy. Therapy for teens in Tempe, Tucson, and all of Arizona offers a solution to the challenge this season brings.
You and your teen are a team—they need you to see them through when life feels harder than they can handle. Here at The Practice, I recognize the necessity of parental involvement in a therapy treatment for teens and work alongside you to give you tools you can use when your teen feels like they are presenting with behavioral issues due to underlying traumas and emotional struggles.
I want to welcome you to The Practice with open arms. ! Your teen can experience relief and happiness even during these tumultuous years. I show up with compassion and understanding while working towards deep connection and empowerment.
With over 25 years of experience working with individuals through life transitions, anxiety, grief, loss, and more—I have a firm grasp on how therapy for teens can help break down the walls and reframe their unhelpful thinking styles, walking away feeling capable and skillful.
My past professional experience involves guiding teens through devastating medical diagnoses to encourage and promote mental health, stability, and overall family wellness. I’ve met with children and teens who have walked through tragic circumstances of neglect and abuse while providing them a quiet calm with mental health therapy services that offer acceptance and safety .
If your teen is experiencing the effects of trauma—there is hope here!
